Thank you for visiting my page. I'm Yvonne Flores-Cale and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Kyle Mayor. I am currently Kyle’s City Council District 2 Representative. I am eager to bring changes to our community as Mayor. Please consider voting for me so together we can build a stronger, brighter more unified Kyle. Government transparency is a crucial aspect of a well-functioning democracy. It is important that our community trusts the city’s leadership. I am, have been and will continue to be, committed to promoting transparency within the city by continuously bringing forward agenda items which support openness and accountability. Additionally, I aim to improve response times to city inquiries, by advocating eliminating the need to constantly refer concerns to external offices. Furthermore, I have actively advocated and voted for financial audits of both council members and staff leaders, ensuring responsible governance, as well as voted to make all credit card information and statements available online for public awareness. Through my votes, I have proven time and time again that my words match my actions.

I am dedicated to supporting public safety. Recognizing the challenges posed by traffic congestion, I have actively requested traffic studies to determine the appropriate safety precautions throughout neighborhoods and voted for the city to work together with Hays CISD to add more lighting. Furthermore, I prioritize ensuring that the police, public works and emergency services departments receive adequate funding to effectively maintain public safety. Together, we can work towards enhancing overall safety in our city.

A strong and vibrant community depends on the quality of life it offers to its residents. As a mayor for the people, my foremost priority is to enhance the quality of life for all residents. I am committed to focusing on policies and initiatives that will enhance our city's quality of life. This includes initiatives such as developing and maintaining parks, trails, and other recreational amenities to promote active and healthy lifestyles for Kyle Residents. I imagine a city where our parks and recreational facilities are well-maintained and easily accessible, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for families and individuals to come together. I also believe in an inclusive approach to quality of life decisions and will continue to support resident input through community forums, town halls, and direct responses to social media inquiries, to ensure your voices are heard and your concerns addressed. Together, we can build a better future for our city.

I am committed to fostering self-sustaining economic development in Kyle by carefully voting for and incentivizing businesses that will provide the most benefits to the residents, ensuring they can live and work in Kyle. In line with this goal, another priority for me is to bring a recreational center, such as the YMCA, to our community as well as finalize plans for a senior center.

With a rapidly growing population, it is important to meet the needs and wants of as many residents, as possible. Therefore, I support both Mom and Pop developments, which I believe are critical for the downtown, as well as high-demand larger chains, in order to provide the residents a good balance of both. I believe in working with and supporting developments/developers who want to do more than build in Kyle, but also want to maintain relationships with the City and the residents. I am dedicated to addressing the imbalance of economic development within Kyle, and will work to ensure that resources and amenities are equally distributed throughout the City.

I believe as a member of city council it is our responsibility to ensure that the developments we vote for do not strain or deplete our valuable water and wastewater resources. By implementing sustainable practices and carefully evaluating projects, we can strike a balance between growth and environmental responsibility, securing a prosperous future for our community.

Of course, none of this can be done by one member of council, so working together with the other members of council is essential in achieving these goals. With the right leadership, we can create a thriving and inclusive environment for all Kyle residents.
